A United Hudson
Margaret will lead with respect and bring people together across wards and income lines
Hudson is at a crossroads. Many of our residents live at or below the poverty line. At the same time, many middle-class families who work hard to support themselves are being priced out of the city they love. We can’t solve every force driving these trends, but we can choose how we respond. We can either turn inward and become more divided — or we can come together as one community.
Too often, debates in Hudson pit one ward against another, or one group of residents against another. But the reality is, we all share this city. We all use its sidewalks and streets, rely on the same city services, and want a safe, welcoming place to call home. I have always worked this way — whether helping form the truck committee with members from across the city, or collaborating on projects that reach well beyond the First Ward. With the right leadership, the Common Council can put unity ahead of division.
As Council President, I will foster a culture of respect and cooperation. I will encourage Council members to think beyond ward boundaries and keep the well-being of the entire city in mind. We are too small a city to afford permanent divides. We can’t fix every challenge facing Hudson — but we can choose to face them together.
